The Esther Koplowitz Foundation was established on 13 December 1995.
The creation of the Foundation has led to the institutionalisation of charity activities that Esther Koplowitz had hitherto carried out on an individual and personal level since the 1970s.

Esther Koplowitz has been awarded the XV Blanquerna Prize, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya regional government. Esther Koplowitz has been awarded the XV Blanquerna Prize awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya regional government. The award ceremony took place at the Teatro Real in Madrid on 5 November in a ceremony presided by José Montilla, President of the Generalitat.
The jury awarded Esther Koplowitz for the quality of her business management and the relevance of FCC in the business history of Catalonia and Spain in general. Likewise, it also distinguishes her charity work through the Esther Koplowitz Foundation, which has demonstrated its commitment to the most disadvantaged sectors of society and its support for medical research and the fight against disease. In this regard, in Catalonia, it has built homes for the elderly without resources and within the scientific community, it built and finances Esther Koplowitz the Biomedical Research Centre (CIBEK). This centre will be transferred to the Fundació Clínic de Barcelona and is already a leading figure in biomedical research in Spain.
